Photo Op: Sage Green & Beauty Booty

Hola ladies!

I'm trying to get back in the swing of things with more frequent postings. I caught the BOGO-50% sale at Walgreens this weekend and bought Revlon ColorStay foundation in 400-Caramel and Revlon ColorTwist mascara in Blackest Black. My mommie also copped me a few NYX palettes at a sale for 2 bucks a piece!

[from l-r: Shangri-LA palette (doesn't list the colors), green palette (Spring Leaf, Lime Green, Green Tea), neutral palette (Highlight, Brown, Suede) ]

I also found NYX liners for 1 buck a piece at a local beauty supply. Yeah I bought all of the ones I didn't already have lol. I only bought 2 lip liners & the rest are eyeliners. All of the eyeliners are metallic except the blue on the end. I think the metallic liners are comparable to the new HIP liners that are out now.
I ♥ NYX liners!

[from l-r: Deep Red (lip), Silver, Sapphire, Purple, Barbie Pink (lip), Gold, White, Thunder Blue]

I've been trying to stray away from the bright colors at work and have been on a neutral kick lately. Today I wanted to add a little color without being too bright. I opted for a sage green toned down with a chocolate brown. This is what I came up with...

Face
Revlon ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 12 for Normal/Dry Skin - Caramel 400
MAC Studio Fix - NC50
La Femme Blush - Sienna

Eyes
UDPP
NYX Green Tea [on lid]
HIP Shady Duo - Chocolate side [blended lightly in crease & above]
*also used to fill in brows
HIP Shady Duo - Tan side [as highlight]
HIP Cream liner - Black [top liner]
HIP Liner pencil - Black [bottom liner]
Revlon ColorTwist Mascara - Blackest Black

Lips
random brown liner from Walgreens
Revlon SuperLustrous Lipgloss - Toast to Shine
[i ♥ Revlon glosses too!]

Beauty Booty - Sephora Haul

Oookkkayyy...so I ran out of my MAC foundation and decided to experiment
w.a different brand. I chose Smashbox's Full Coverage Cream-Powder in M3-4 (I think?). Although the color is a great match, I hate the texture of it. It reminds me of the Mary Kay foundations; very oily and streaky.
What a waste of 38 bucks :(
The saleswoman tried to talk me into purchasing the Smashbox foundation primer.
I didn't wanna pay another 30+ bucks for a 'maybe' product, so she gave me a sample.
It's actually quite nice for someone with oily skin. It gives a VERY smooth/velvety feeling :)
I also picked up the highly favored UD Primer Potion. I know i'm VERY late jumping on that bandwagon (but I march to my own tune). I actually LOVE it though!
That's one item that was well worth my $$$

...in addition to Cargo's Suede Blush in Gold Coast
Pretty :)

I bought a total of 18 sample piggies:
Electric Lust - very pretty bright blue, similar to MAC's Electric Eel
Fall From Grace - a coppery pink
Far too Fabolous - metallic royal blue, similar to MAC's Bang on Blue
High Drama - vibrant grape
Lack of Sanity - sea green
Lucifer's Chariot - deep mauve
Next Stop Oz - pretty forest green
No Scruples - very similar to High Drama, a bit lighter
Passion Parade - chocolate bronze
Plastic Paradise - metallic sky blue
Pristine Nature - pretty, pretty light coral
Resisted Anxiety - chocolate brown, not as bronzey as Passion Parade
Risky Behavior - metallic grape
Splinter - smokey, metallic charcoal
Swim with the Fishes - VERY pretty teal, my fave out the bunch
Typical Mania - very light aqua
Valley Girl - pretty fuschia
Voluntary Mayhem - metallic navy

I ♥ these piggies & will def be ordering full-sizes. They are very pigmented & ladies - the samples were only $.50! What do you have to lose???

Here are the swatches:
I swatched both of these with a fingertip. See the color payoff???
(sorry about the blurriness, but you can still see the color)
